On Welforum.it, Federico Grassi describes how social farming in Tuscany is trying to move beyond being just a set of good practices and become a stable part of the integrated system of social, socio-health, and employment services. The reference point is the UPFARM project, co-financed with ESF+ Social Innovation funds, which in the front-runner areas of the Piana di Lucca and Zona Pisana has launched Living Labs, networks of farming enterprises, and multidisciplinary teams that include company representatives, with the first hires already made; in the coming months the model will be replicated in Valdinievole and Fiorentina Sud-Est.
The issue the article focuses on is methodological: if social farming becomes a stable part of the district zone’s multidisciplinary team, it can contribute to profiling people and matching them with opportunities, becoming a resource in the catalog on a par with the other interventions of the personalised life project.
